After the Russian boycott on the Dutch tomato production, many growers faced large surpluses. We wanted to create an event that created awareness for this boycott. As a result, we organized Tomatofest, a massive tomato fight on the Dam square in Amsterdam. For Siemens and their newest model washing machines this was the perfect opportunity to reach their target group in a fun and relevant way.
More than 1500 enthusiastic people gathered on the Dam square and used more than 200.000 rejected tomatoes to support the local growers in an unforgettable experience.
Tomatofest has been featured on the front pages of the largest (inter)national newspapers such as BBC, Fox News, The Moscow Times, Mashable, Buzzfeed, Time Magazine, The Economist and many other (inter)national news outlets.
